The Famous Marketplace: Jamaa El-Fnaa

Jamaa El Fnaa is a market place and popular square in Marrakesh's. It is the major square of Marrakesh is a famous marketplace for locals and tourists. The origin of this name is still not clear, according to the Arabic, it may be “The mosque or assembly of death”.  The place was founded in 1970-1972 by the Almoravids. This was destructed with the Almohads. After this incident, the place was renovated by Jamaa El Fnaa with the city.  The hospitals, palace, gardens are developed in the surrounding of this area.

Initially, the people were selling the juice, colorful costumes and traditional water blog. As the day changes, the entertainment offers will change. The snake charmer becomes crowded in the evening. In 2011, the great mart was suffered from the bomb blast. There were 17 people died and 25 were injured. Sagi said in his statement, “We see a great commercial and tourist potential in Camden Market,” he added. “Our vision is to utilize technology to enable a better experience for residents, storeowners, and visitors."
